1902 Train Wreck
Bells Railroad Depot and section crew. This is a picture postcard.
This train derailed just east of the Bells depot in 1902. It was said that many of the
13 cars that derailed contained meat, and that residents of Bells came to the wreck
site to pick up the meat and cook it before it spoiled. According to a handwritten
note on the back of the original photo, the wreck was caused by an open switch.
